Unscrupulous individuals occasionally prey on people who have lost their pets in an attempt to steal travel fees or reward money. They will often claim to have found peoples' pets whilst driving interstate and request a large sum of money be sent to have the pet shipped home. If you receive any such solicitations please do not pay. A genuine finder will be more than happy to drop the pet off at a local animal shelter or vet clinic for you to arrange the recovery with. If you come into possession of any details regarding this sort of activity please let us know at webmaster@lostdogs.com.au so we can pass the information on to local police to investigate the matter.
